The Nintendo 64 isn't being made by Nintendo anymore and is long since disappeared from retail shelves at big stores like Wal-Mart, Target, or Gamestop. So how do you find Nintendo 64 games and more importantly how do you get them for good prices.
Where to Look for Nintendo 64 Games
1. Independent Video Game Stores - local, independently owned video game stores usually carry Nintendo 64 games still. Their selection might not be the best but they should have the best sellers available and maybe a few rarities. The prices might be a little higher than you want to pay. Keep on reading to find out how much you should pay.
2. Pawn Shops - The selection at pawn shops is hit or miss, you never know what they will have but most pawn shops near me have some Nintendo 64 games and consoles. The prices are generally negotiable and you can find some great deals if you know what to look for.
3. Online Stores - Online retailers are your best bet for finding a wide selection of N64 games and the prices are usually quite reasonable. You need to watch out for shipping though. You might find a great deal on a game, but the shipping makes it too expensive. I know some stores offer free shipping on big enough orders. JJGames.com has free shipping on orders over $25 for example.
How Much Should You Pay
Because N64 games aren't sold in stores any more you usually have to buy them used and it can be hard to know what a good price is. I've found a great service to use is VideoGamePriceCharts.com. They have daily updated Nintendo 64 prices from multiple sources across the Internet.
This is a good base price to know what a game is worth. If you find it for less it is probably a good deal. If it is more expensive, it better be in almost perfect condition or you could probably find it somewhere cheaper.
