Star 1 - Jump to the left across the water until you reach a pipe. Climb through the pipe. You will pop up in the same spot, just smaller. Punch and kick the piranha plants that pop up. After you get the 5th one, the star will pop up.
Star 2 - Make your way to the top of the island as Tiny Mario.
Star 3 - Go up the island until you get past the area where the cannon balls come out. Talk to Koopa the Quick who will challenge you to a rematch. Race him down the hill past the bridge to the Koopa Shell Flag to get star 3.

Super Mario 64 - Stars 4-6 in Tall Tall Mountain Video Walkthrough
Star 4 - Make your way up the mountain until you get just past the floating cloud. On the mountain wall there is a wavy section. Jump through the wavy section and slide down the mountain. Make sure to turn onto the wooden path when it comes up, or you will lose a life.
Star 5 - Go up the mountain until you reach the purple exclamation button. Press it, then run ahead to the bridge and waterfall. Jump on the box sticking out of the waterfall, then go behind the falls to get star 5.
Star 6 - Run up the path, past the vine wall. Before you jump up to the platform with the monkey, there is a hidden platform. Jump down and talk to the Bob-omb to get the cannon unlocked. Go to the cannon, and aim just above the top of the cloud to land on the mushroom.

Super Mario 64 - Stars 1-3 in Tall Tall Mountain Video Walkthrough
Star 1 - Work your way around the mountain till you reach the top.
Star 2 - Get back to the top of the mountain, where there will be a monkey. Catch the monkey, then when the dialog box appears, choose to free him. He will open the cage that the star is in.
Star 3 - Collect 8 red coins along the course, then retrieve the star on the mushroom that's off the mountain.

The 100-coin stars are the easiest to get. Just pick up coins as you work toward the other stars.
